During our vacation on Corsica we went to a couple of markets. The first one was a Thursday morning market near Bravone where they had a lot of local produce. We bought some spicy olive oil and wine from a vineyard nearby. But it was too hot in the sun to really enjoy it. There were also some stands with local crafts so we could pick up a few souvenirs to give to friends and family back home. We also went to the evening market at Cervione. This is a small village on a hill top and the market occupies the complete main street of the village. They were well organised so there were shuttle busses from 2 nearby parking areas. Most people were enjoying food and drinks on terraces at the local cafés. It was completely packed and after an hour or so we took a detour past the church back to our car to make a late 10PM dinner at our apartment. The view from Cervione over the surrounding area was worth the trip but the market itself didn’t have much to offer. On one of our last evenings on Corsica we decided to go and have a drink at the nearby beach bar Chez Babbò. As we had already eaten we simply ordered some drinks at the bar and sat down on one of the couches. The temperatures was nice in the late evening but the mosquitos cut our stay short. Still, having the drink at the beach in the dark in warm temperatures gave our stay a bit of tropical island feeling, all in Europe without having to fly.
