Greek Restaurant Nisos in Heerlen

After our second day of hiking the Dutch Mountain Trail we opted to go out for dinner in Heerlen. We picked Greek restaurant Nisos after a Google search. This turned out to be a good choice after a day of walking. We went for the Tapas platter and it was definitely huge. If you are especially hungry or like large portions then this is a recommendation. We took the meat version and had lots of of smallish Greek classic dishes on the wooden board: tzatziki, homous, meat balls in tomato sauce, gigantes, steak, chicken and pork.It was way more than we could manage normally but after a day of walking we did not feel ashamed about the amount of food left on the board when we were finished. We skipped the fries that came with it and some of the snacks but most of the rest we did eat. Besides the Tapas we also could serve ourselves at the salad bar for additional vegetables. Some of the dishes were really nice, others we didn’t like too much but that was because of personal preferences. For drinks we had water and Alfa beer from tap. I had never heard of it but this is made in a local brewery. Their standard lager is not exceptional but quite refreshing and tasty and ideal to quench the thirst on a hot day.
