This year we went for a short 1 week vacation in The Netherlands. First, we stayed 4 nights in Hotel Wilmbersberg in De Lutte near the German border. This is a really nice hotel with an excellent cook and nice grounds surrounding the hotel building. You can take a signed 30′ walk around the grounds with some older trees, probably +150 years old. Our rooms were on the ground floor and had a small terrace with a table and 2 chairs to sit on. The room also had a table with 2 chars and a set of 2 comfortable couches. We used the location for a few bicycle trips to Oldenzaal, Ootmarsum, Denekamp and Bad Bentheim. Both breakfast and dinner were really excellent and the staff was very friendly. The hotel has a large bike shed where you can safely place your own bike and where the bikes that you can rent at the hotel are also placed. People with electric bikes can conveniently charge their bikes in this shed as well. The hotel has a small gym and a nice pool + sauna. Our kids made frequent use of the pool and sauna in the evening before or after dinner, only on one evening the sauna was occupied by the team of FC Twente that was staying in the hotel. They had their lunch and dinner in a separate room in the basement and made use of the massage facilities next to the breakfast room. The hotel is quite big so we never had the feeling that is was crowded.
