Celebrating Summer with Greek Cuisine

After the heat wave of last week and with exams finished we had to go and celebrate with a nice dinner. We chose to go to a Greek restaurant called Tzikis Ouzeri. It is a family restaurant run by a couple of brothers. The weather was still good enough to sit outside which added to the summer vacation feeling. They have a couple of menus with a selection of their Mezze but this time made our own selection from the menu. What is nice about this style of food besides the taste is that you can order many small dishes to share and you have a continuous flow of food coming to your table. We had tzatziki, Greek salad, calamares, octopus, Mediterranean chicken, carpaccio, baked potatoes and more. If you are not sure about how much to order then you can always start ‘small’ and then order more along the way. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The brothers typically have some outside help to serve at the tables but apart from that they do much themselves which adds to the family restaurant atmosphere. Very good food for an acceptable price is a relaxed atmosphere with a personal touch.We come here every now and then and I can highly recommend it. They sometimes have special dishes made on the grill and around Easter you can enjoy very tasty lamb. When it is hot the Mezze are a good choice to go for. There is enough variety to come back in different seasons.
