A little while ago I was looking for a pocket knife for emergencies to cut material and break glass, like for example when you would to cut your safety belt and break the window of your car when trapped inside for some reason. I came across the Leatherman Skeletool Rx which was made for that purpose. I bought mine on Knives and Tools but you can also buy it on the official Leatherman site or at stores like A.S. Adventure for example. The Rx comes with a Ti carbide bit to break glass and you can replace it easily with a standard screwdriver bit that is neatly stored in the grip. The serrated blad is ideal for cutting through thin ropes but I use it most often to open boxes and cut through tape, not exactly emergency situations. But the knife is not too bulky so it easily fits in your trouser pocket and the open design is ideal to avoid sand and dirt accumulating in the tool. The Rx comes in a shiny red which I like but if you are not particularly interested in the Ti bit and prefer another color then you take another version in Skeletool family that is more to your liking. It is a basic multitool so if you are looking for one with many more tools then there are better options in the Leatherman range. For me it is enough and the pliers already have come in handy when I had to remove a screw that got lodged into my car tyre. All in all a nice little tool that has the basics covered and more.
