If you want peace, prepare for war. Chapter 3 starts where chapter 2 ended. After being declared excommunicate, John is given a 1 hour lead by Winston before the contract on his head is activated. While running John is told by a vagabond there is no time to dilly-dally. In this first hour John manages to collect a marker he had hidden in a book in the library. But then the chase starts and a lot of brutal fights follow with John being victorious every time. As John butchers enemy after enemy the High Table decides to punish Winston and the King of the Bowery because they aided him to assassinate Santino at the end of chapter 2. This results in at least 2 friends to side with John. John goes to Casablanca to meet the elder residing over the table. The elder gives him a the opportunity to serve again under the table but for this he has to kill his friend Winston. There are some really good and funny fight sequences in the movie. One early on with John fighting his assailants in some kind of old weapons museum in which the museum artefacts are put back in use. Another one takes place in Casablanca with former assassin Sofia (played by Halle Berry) and John Wick joining forces to slaughter a truck load of opponents. John shows off his trade mark head shot killing frequently and this is given a twist in the finale taking place in the Continental when facing elite killers from the High Table wearing full body armour. The only way to eliminate them is to shoot the point blank in the head and neck. Of course it is all very far from realistic so anyone looking for any hint of realism in the movie should stay away from this movie. But if you like a bizar mix between action movie and video game then this is worth watching. Special guest star Mark Dacascos as the main adversary yapping away all the time in contrast to the John Wick character that hardly speaks more than 2 words in close conjunction is also a fun touch.
