Maison Belge

Sunday we went for dinner at Maison Belge to celebrate a couple of May birthdays. We’ve been there a few times before and so far it was always a success. The kids opted out this time in favour of a home made pizza + Netflix movie evening. It saved us the worry that the dinner would take too long for them. Weather is finally improving so we could sit outside. There was no wind so not even remotely chilly for me. We were with 6 so we had to limit our choices to 4 dishes to keep the time to get served under control. This was not a problem, we only had 2 different starters and 2 different main courses. We had octopus as a starter which was excellent. As main course I went for a steak which was also excellently prepared. 4 people took cod which was again excellent. A few people still went for desert but I was full so I skipped this and just enjoyed another beer to help digestion. Staff were super friendly and even though there were a lot of people we didn’t have to wait long for or our orders to be served. All in all it didn’t take very long, approximately 3 hours so the kids could have come but they had their own good time. One of the better restaurants in the neighbourhood in my opinion.
