FIH Pro League Games Belgium – Spain 21 May 2022
2 earlier attempts in 2020 and 2021 to go and watch the Belgian Red Pathers and Red Lions hockey teams play failed due to covid. Last weekend we finally managed to actually go and watch a couple of games. As a bonus Merijn got elected to be in the line up so it was an extra special event for him. Tilburg D1 plays in Hoofdklasse next season
From the beginning of the season in the promotie klasse the ambition of Tilburg has been to achieve promotion to the Dutch hockey ‘premier league’ known as hoofdklasse. They were well on track as they were at the top of the league with 2 games to play. We went to watch the game of Tilburg D1 against Leonidas from Rotterdam as Hannelore is a big fan of Maddie Hinch. Last Sunday we went to watch this game of Tilburg D1 away at Rotterdam. Since it was announced that Maddie Hinch was returning to the Netherlands to play in the promotieklasse with Tilburg we had the plan to go and watch her play. Enter the Dragon was Bruce Lee’s 4th movie and his first and last Hollywood picture. It was to be his big break through in the West but unfortunately he died before it premiered. Compared to his earlier movies this one has more of real story and also co stars John Saxon and Jim Kelly playing an important role in the movie. I first watched this series on DVD years ago when I was still riding a BMW GS1200 motorcycle myself. I had read a few books about riders traveling the world but watching Ewan McGregor & Charlie Boorman actually make the trip through Mongolia and the Road of Bones in Russia made the experience a lot more ‘factual’.
