John Wick
Watched the first John Wick movie a couple of years ago. Came across it on Netflix while searching for Keanu Reaves. I hadn’t heard about it at the time but of course today it has become a well known franchise. This weekend chapter 4 came out in the cinema here and I decided to catch up on the first 3 films first. As it had been a long time since I had seen the first John Wick I decided to watch it again. The role fits Keanu Reaves well as the emotionless, almost robotic killer. In the first movie we…

First k on Stromer ST3 Pinion
Early this week the odometer on the Stromer crossed the 1000km mark. It took a bit longer than expected due to a lot of bad weather. Too much rain when it was close to freezing. Not the ideal conditions for going +40 km/h on 2 bicycle tyres. Instead of enjoying a relaxing bike ride I had to spend time in traffic jams again. The covid times are definitely long gone on the roads. In a way it is a bit unexpected as many people can now partly work from home. More people working from home, more people taking the bike…

The Bourne Legacy
We watched The Bourne Legacy last week. It was the first movie we watched on our new tv. Every now and then there was a scene that was brilliantly detailed with vivid colours. It just adds extra pleasure to watching movies. This fourth movie in the Jason Bourne franchise doesn’t star Matt Damon as Jason Bourne but we see Jeremy Renner aka Hawkeye playing the lead role of Aaron Cross. A couple of scenes from The Bourne Ultimatum are used in the story which makes clear this story is taking place at the same time. As a matter of fact,…

More PlayStation Luck
After buying a new PS4 earlier in the year we had some issues with black screens while playing. We decided it was time to retire our 17 year old 50 inch Pioneer plasma tv and buy something new. The choice was between a LG or Sony OLED screen. Both had good reviews with LG having a better price for equal image quality. Nevertheless we ended up going for a Sony Bravia as it had some dedicated PlayStation features and acoustic surface with sound coming out of the screen which could be further tuned with Bravia cam so it adjusts sound…

Die Hard
Watched the first Die Hard movie with my son a few weeks ago on an evening when the 2 of us were home alone. He had not even heard of it even though this is kind of an action movie classic. From 1988 I remember it causing a bit of a stir at the time because of the explosive action and high body count. Bruce Willis was not yet a big movie start but that all changed after this movie. It is said to have redefined the action movie genre and for sure compared to other actions movies from that…

PlayStation luck
For a very long time I have been thinking about upgrading my PS3 system. I bought my PS3 when it originally came out because it was almost cheaper to buy a PS3 then to buy a BluRay player at that time. Then came life and I didn’t have a lot of time to play games anymore so I put off upgrading to the PS4. During the covid pandemic the PS5 was launched and the kids had a new PS on the wish list for some time so I figured why not. But the PS5 was hard to come by and…

Daredevil
Watched the Daredevil movie again recently. It came out 20 years ago in 2003 but visually it didn’t lose any of its flair and it doesn’t look 20 years old at all. It is more or less non stop action from start to finish so the story is a little thin and the character development limited. But as an introduction to the character it is OK and although Daredevil is a less famous super hero compared to others I personally like him much. He is a bit of a mix between Batman and Superman with superhuman senses and a daytime…
