Second k on the Stromer ST3 Pinion
Last week the odometer on the Stromer crossed the 2000km mark. Again it took a bit longer than expected. Started working on a new project which has me going to The Netherlands regularly which is too far to go by bike. The Pinion + carbon belt drive form a very robust combination. Another comic book inspired movie. I didn’t know about the comic book origin when I saw this movie. I kind of stumbled across it on Netflix and started watching. A lot of unexpected star actors participate in this comic book adaptation : Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, Morgan Freeman, Hellen Mirren and John Malkovich to name a few. The visual style and over the top hilarious action are true to its origin. Although not superheroes in the classical sense the characters in the story certainly have superhuman skills. The College @ Sittard Hilton
I had dinner with my son @ The College while staying in the Sittard Hilton a few weeks ago. We had arrived quite late at the hotel and had to get up early for our Limburgs Mooiste bike ride the next day so we didn’t bother to go looking for a restaurant in the neighbourhood. Ter Helme 2023
To continue our yearly tradition we went to Ter Helme again this year. The weather was reasonable, not too hot but still warm enough to go to the beach 2 times. On the Monday we went for a bike ride to Sint Idesbald. It had been a while since we went that way. On our bike trip we did have a bit of rain. We thought we could visit museum Ten Duinen while it rained but unfortunately they only opened at 2PM. FIH Pro League games Belgium – The Netherlands on July 1st and July 4th 2023
There were 2 weeks of games again in Antwerp this year end of June, beginning of July. And both the Belgian men and women teams played against the Dutch on Saturday July 1st and Tuesday July 4th. The Dutch women won both games as expected but the wins were very narrow ones, 2-0 and 2-1. On Saturday the Dutch women had the best of the game but they forgot to score which kept the game intense until the very end. The Dutch only scored their second goal in the last minute of the game. Die Hard with a Vengeance, aka Die Hard 3. The movie came out in 1995 and stars Samuel Jackson and Jeremy Irons besides Bruce Willis. This third movie doesn’t follow the same concept of the previous 2 movies where all the action basically takes place in one building. In the second movie of the prequel the story starts to turn a little darker. Episode 1 was a bit of a ‘the beginning’ story where we learn about the very young Anakin and the threat of the Sith. Batteliek
Some time ago we were in Mechelen to watch a Onze Natuur in cinema Lumiere with friends and we were looking for a place to eat afterwards. We ended up in Batteliek. It is located a bit out of the city centre next to the canal. We walked along the water from the center which took half an hour or so but if you prefer you can park your car close to Batteliek as well.
