A Perfect Lunch Stop: Brasserie Woods in Nachtegalenpark near hockey club Olympia

Some time ago we had a bit 2 hours over lunch between 2 hockey games at hockey club Olympia in Antwerp and the cafetaria didn’t fit our needs. We found Brasserie Woods within walking distance in the Nachtegalenpark park. The brasserie is located right at the park entrance and benefits from the green surroundings to add a bit of cachet. It was chilly but we were lucky that it was a sunny afternoon so although we sat inside we could still enjoy the sun due to the interior of the brasserie which resembles a bit a greenhouse style with lots of glass. It almost feels as if you are sitting outside without actually being outside. Although it is a brasserie it is a bit upmarket with menu, service and prices of a restaurant. Luckily the food quality, interior atmosphere and service also match what you can expect from a restaurant. No complaints there, just don’t expect a quick and cheap bite to eat. We had steak and mussels and these were very good. As we didn’t have a lot of time and still had to drive home after the second game we kept it simple and limited ourselves to a main course and also skipped the wine menu. Still we had a relaxing 1,5 hours with good food. It was good enough to come back some time, maybe combining it with a walk in the Nachtegalenpark and then concluding with dinner at Brasserie Woods.
