After a week of biking in around Zadar and Sveti Filip we had booked a few days at the sea on Krk to relax. We stayed in an appartment called Villa Lovorka which was literally at the waterfront (I added 2 pictures from the site link to give you an idea of inside and outside). You could almost see the fish swimming in the water from the balcony on the first floor. The beach in front of the building was a pebble beach with very little
surf so the water was very clear. The road was for pedestrians only so except for children playing in the sea and people walking and enjoying the sea there was no noise to wake you up in the morning or to keep you awake at night. The appartment was nice but a bit smallish for 4, mainly the bathroom was really small. The room had airco and electric shutters to keep the sun out. As the temperature had gone up into the mid thirties this was something we appreciated a lot. Our host was waiting for us on the parking lot and guided us to the appartment. As we arrived relatively late in the afternoon we decided to go for a walk and then have dinner at Pipo where breakfast would also be served. The place doesn’t look like much, a terrace, partly over the water, with wooden tables and benches but the food turned out to be surprisingly good and all for a low price. One way to keep the price down is that they serve the main dish without sides. For example, I took grilled octopus and chose rice and grilled vegatables as side dishes which made the total prices go up of course but you have the benefit of customising your meal to your liking. In any event the meal turned out to be excellent. As we were staying only a couple of days we didn’t come back but tried other places instead. But the food at Pipo was better than any of the other places we tried in the vicinity.
