On our cycle tour to Vrana National Park we had to find a place to lunch. After visiting the park the route took us past the Maskovica Heritage Hotel which also has a restaurant. The hotel is located in an old medieval building and is part of the national heritage. We stopped to have a look at the outside and the inner courtyard but decided not to have lunch hear even though the menu was attractive. We were simply not dressed for the occasion. Heading back to Sveti Filip we passed Pakostane and ended up having lunch in Konoba Galija. It is located next to the coast with a couple of camp sites close by. The place was packed and we had to wait in line for a table for 2 to become available. It was worth waiting for though. Good food at incredibly cheap prices. One of the reasons is probably that they only accept cash. Of course we didn’t have enough cash on us but to our good fortune there was an ATM machine right in front of the restaurant so I only had to get up from the table and walk a few meters from the entrance to get some money to pay our bill. Staff was friendly and spoke German. If you are looking for an unpretentious place which doesn’t cost too much without sacrificing on the food quality then this is a good option.
