During our stay in Croatia we also visited Pasman island by bike. This bike tour was one of the most bike friendly we did with some dirt road sections and fewer pedestrians to navigate. We had some luck while following the coast to find a place for a swim that had chairs under trees that belonged to an apartment but were not occupied. We opted to go for a swim instead of sticking to the complete bike route. We had enough exercise in the heat with a few steep climbs when the road had to leave the coast and go inland. Around lunch time we reached the village of San Marko and Google directed us to San Marko Konoba. It was off the main road, hidden in a small street and turned out to be a hidden gem. The food was great with fried calamari, octopus and some traditional stews. We sat outside in a covered courtyard behind the restaurant. The owner was also super friendly and offered us a local digestif and learned us a few words in Croatia. While we were sitting there a large party arrived that got serve a very large dish to share. At that moment we all felt like it was a pity that we were not lodging in San Marko. If we had we would surely have lingered and spent a long afternoon there, tasting dishes, drinking beer and wine and loitering. Or alternatively we would have come back for a nice relaxing dinner. A really wonderful place to eat, just make sure you don’t need to go anywhere afterwards so you can stay as long as you want.
