On November 24 2025 Joan as Police Woman played a concert in 30cc in Leuven. I saw her play in Leuven long ago in the period that she had released Real Live and To Survive, 2 albums I have at home and really like. I hadn’t followed newer albums so I didn’t know what to expect. But even if I had been in touch with her more recent albums I doubt it would have prepared me for her performance. Joan played keyboards and piano and a bit of guitar and was on stage with only a drummer and a guitarist. It was a bit of Joan plays Joan as Police Woman and Joan’s jazzy jam session. Together the 3 of them reinterpreted both old and new songs and brought them in a new way. If you enjoy her music I can recommend to go and watch her on tour. She did a bit of marketing saying there were still tickets for a next concert in The Netherlands 2 days later and that every performance was different. That is certainly how I experienced the show in Leuven. I didn’t go to The Netherlands but I am going to buy a couple of her newer albums now.
Looking for an overview of her work I came across this interview with her where she picked her best songs from a 20 year solo career and comments about why she picked these songs.
