After many years of not running I got back into it during the first covid wave (not much else to do). But then, as activity resumed again I lost the rhythm once more in 2022 and 2023. I kept on running but with gaps here and there and a too low weekly frequency. So last year in 2024 as I turned 55 I decided to put as a minimum goal to run 55 times and run at least once a week. A mild target but because we had really terrible weather to my taste this winter with a lot of rain and temperatures near the freezing point I had problems to keep up the frequency in January-February, certainly after I got a bad cold. Still, I clocked off the year with 69 runs. And in the month of April with weather getting better I have been starting to get some weeks in with 3 runs and at least 15k in total run. I am also trying to do 1 longer run at snail pace each week. After some difficult winter months with a lot of painful running because of too little running I am starting to feel some improvement again. This year I am going to set a bit more challenging target and go for 110 runs. If the weather is as shitty again this winter I think I am really going to buy a treadmill.
