Recently went for diner at Manilah. It is located in the centre of Keerbergen and according to the website the building was abandoned for a long time. It is a bit trendy with stylish interior decoration using materials from all over the world. The interior is certainly unique and has a warmth that fits well with the name of the place. The interior is quite spacious and you can sit at your table to have a private conversation without the feeling that the next table is listening in. Everything in the interior seems to have been given attention, including the glasses and cutlery. There was modern music playing which was clearly audible but it never disturbed the conversation. Net result was that it felt a bit like being on vacation and having a relaxing dinner in some warm and far away country. The menu also spans the globe with traditionals, Mexican and Korean inspired dishes for example. Prices are not exactly cheap and even a bit above other fancy restaurants in the village. I had a filet pur and my wife took the Korean beef rice cake. Food was certainly good but not as exceptional as the interior. Still, we truly enjoyed our evening out. Certainly recommended if the atmosphere is important for you or you are feeling in a specially festive mood :-).
