‘t Kerckevelt

Recently looking for a place to eat on Tuesday evening in the neighborhood. Not easy. We ended up in ‘t Kerckevelt. This is in Steenokkerzeel almost next to Zaventem Airport. It is a nice brasserie with good food and a cosy atmosphere. Food is good and service is very friendly. Inside is a renovated old building so it has a bit of its own additional character making the interior unique in the sense that it is not belonging to a chain. In summer you can sit outside under a pergola and with the right temperature you can imagine being in the South of France. They serve traditional dishes. I had a steak which was excellent. Only minor criticism is that they don’t have any beers on tap so you have to make due with bottles. They had Duvel so I managed to survive :-). If you are in the neighbourhood I can definitely recommend it. There is square in front where you can park your car. I came by bike and there is also a bike stand on the square so you can safely chain your bike. In summer you have to make a reservation as it is typically full.
