Heart of Stone

poster Heart of StoneWatched this on Netflix during the Xmas break. I categorise it under light entertainment. A spy movie that borrows from James Bond and Mission Impossible but without an attractive story. All the typical ingredients are there (except for the obligatory Bond sexcapades) and Gal Gadot is an appropriately attractive lead actor but she lacks the obsessiveness of Ethan Hunt and certainly the ruthlessness of James Bond as portraid by Daniel Craig. This maniacal aspect of the lead spy is an essential part to trigger a sufficient amount of suspension of disbelief needed to be absorbed in such over the top action movies. The story itself is also not very inspired but what did save the movie for me in the end are a couple of evil characters that really need to get what they deserve. So I ended up rooting for Gal Gadot to finish them off. Looking at it that way this is a revenge movie disguised as a spy action movie. If you have time left to spare and your brain cannot process anything more challenging then go for it.
