For Christmas I gave the kids a Lego Batman Tumbler to build. You can get it from many places like for example on the lego site but I managed to grab a nice discount from Bol.com at the time. It was fun building at a leisurely pace with the 3 of us. The set consists of just over 2000 pieces so it took us a while piecing it together on weekday evenings when there were no other obligations. It is not as spectacular as the tumbler from the movies but still quite impressive. The 4 wheels at the back and the massive front tyres give it a very powerful appearance. What makes it slightly less successful compared to the BMW M 1000 RR kit we did before is the armoured plating which is simply not so convincing in Lego. But the almost completely black model is still nicely done : the Dark Knight in his Dark Ride. What is also missing are the roaring engine and the afterburner rocket spitting fire. But the Tumbler has stealth mode as well which is more fitting for the Lego model. After the joy of putting it together we now have our own nice Lego Tumbler. So nice we just put it on its stand and have a look at it now and then. I wish they would come out with a Lego version of The Bat. That would be cool.
