The third Jason Bourne movie of the original trilogy. It picks up the story where we left it at the end of the Bourne Supremacy. It actually goes back a bit in time showing how Jason Bourne manages to escape in Russia after having visited the daughter of his first victim, Vladimir Nesky. When a reporter from the Guardian newspaper publishes a series of articles about the Treadstone program and its successor Blackbriar Jason Bourne wants to meet him. The CIA don’t want the secrets to come out and the reporter gets assassinated during his meeting with Bourne. From then on the hunt is on again and we have all the classic ingredients again of this movie series with the musical themes, the fights and high speed chases mixed with Bourne outwitting his CIA adversaries. Along the way we learn more about Jason Bourne’s past and at the end we find out how it all began. In this movie we get a variation of an action sequence from the second movie which ties the movies together at another level. I found this more a gimmick than a real addition. From the 3 I think the first one is the best but this third movie has more tension in it and is more adrenaline packed than the middle one in my opinion. So certainly worth watching as well if you already saw the first 2 ones. Although suspense and discovery play a big role in the movie you can watch the movie multiple times and still enjoy it although obviously the surprise element will be gone then. Jason Bourne is in some ways a lot like Daniel Craig’s James Bond with probably one big difference, Jason Bourne is like James Bond without a cause.
