Went for an early dinner a few weeks ago on a Friday at Brasserie de Abdijmolen in de abdij van het park in Heverlee. The sun was shining but it was raining on and off so we decided to play it safe and sit inside even though some people were enjoying a drink outside. As we were early we could pick a table upstairs next to the window and enjoy the sunlight and view over the water. The terrace upstairs was closed because of the bad weather and it was good we sat inside as there were a couple of showers while we had dinner. The brasserie is part of the Lodge group so menu is traditional but the quality of the food is good. From the 4 locations of the Lodge group in Leuven this one has the most charm. It is in an old building and which has an interior with a mix of old and new but the location in the park with the pond right next to the terrace make it special. As we were early we had some time to have another beer after dinner and still be on time for the last direct train back home for my company. This is a nice place to come for dinner or to just have a drink after work. I have been here a few times and will come back. The menu has enough variation and the chef makes small adaptations according to the wishes/needs of the guests. My friend has lactose intolerance and he asked if his steak could be made with oil instead of butter. No problem at all.
