In July we managed to get in touch with family while doing an activity. This year we went to visit the Verbeke Foundation. It is celebration its 15th anniversary this year but personally I never visited it before. It is a bit an eclectic collection of art and objects placed in a park. Don’t expect traditional art like in a museum setting but for example a strip of highway including lamp post and crash barrier. Other objects are for example a giant Russian helicopter or small bungalows made out of a type of plastic. Some of it is industrial waste recycled into artefacts for an exhibition. That makes this collection quite unique and enjoyable by many. We went on a warm summer day and on such days you can also just enjoy a walk in the park even if you don’t really appreciate the objects. On the day we were there there was also a wedding so we could listen to the vows in the garden while having a drink in the cafetaria. Probably not for the serious art connaisseur but for the rest of us. Or maybe I just didn’t get it, very well possible.
