In the second season we find Peggy back in LA where she is helping out to crack a strange case of a dead body found in a frozen lake during a heatwave. All the ingredients that made season 1 so good are back in the mix and this time we even get 2 more episodes as season 2 consists of 10 episodes. Even so it is over all too soon. The second season is a bit darker compared to the first one with the mysterious and dangerous zero matter and a conspiracy ruling the world to be overcome. The dialogues between Peggy and Jarvis are still very funny from time to time. There is a little less fighting and more sleuthing trying to uncover various mysteries. If the first season was an action adventure then the second season is more of a thriller with a cliffhanger right at the end. Unfortunately ABC decided to drop the series and a third season was never made. A pity as Peggy Carter and Jarvis were a nice duo to build a series around. As it plays in the forties it made it also a very natural context to insert issues like gender and racial inequality into the series as ‘discussion points’. From a purely MCU point of view it was nice to be introduced to the original Jarvis who will later in time become the inspiration for the AI Jarvis of Tony Stark.
