1942 Joint Strike

In 2020 there was a lot of time to spend at home. We ended up playing quite some games with the family. Card games mostly. But the old PS3 also saw increased use and it started to fail with frequent black screens during playing. So I bought a second hand one to replace the defective one. After connecting the new PS3 to the tv I hooked up the old one to my monitor in the study to see if I could still get some old games off. Since it has been sitting on my desk the black screens have disappeared, possibly because it is not heating up as much as in the confined location it as in under the tv. Anyway, instead of getting data off I decided to try and play some of the downloaded games and then maybe retire the system. One game still on the harddisk is Capcom’s 1942 Join Strike. I never got very far in this game but now playing it with my son I finally managed to finish it. What I like about it is that it is ideal for causal gaming, no need to learn much about characters and stories and you can play a game for half an hour and finish and then play again the next time. I always wondered how people could finish this game as I always struggled to get far in level 4. Having finally finished it myself I can say the answer is very simple : there are only 5 levels. Now that I got this far I will try to complete all levels a few times more and then move on to something else.
