Unrepentant Geraldines

The 2020 lockdown imposed many limitations in our daily lives but by doing so also opened up opportunities to do other things for which there somehow never seemed to be time. One of them that I am trying to enjoy again is to actively listen to albums on our stereo. As a family it is also fun to hear the kids grumbling again about having to listen to boring music before the first note comes out of the speakers. Anyway, I started listening again to our CD collection and one album I recently listened to was Unrepentant Geraldines from Tori Amos. I really love this album, her voice, the piano, the lyrics. I could listen to it all day but the rest of the family would have me ousted before the fourth listening I’m sure. The title alone is already enough to listen to it, if only once. Any woman should be able to be who she wants to be, just like men. Of course not all men are allowed to be who they want to be but in general they are more free than women. I’m digressing, regardless the topics this album is enjoyable if you like singing, piano and pop music. It came out in 2014 after some creative struggles that Tori Amos had been experiencing. More details can be found on Wikipedia. Some of my favourite songs on the album are Trouble’s lament, Wedding Day but having listened to it a couple of times in recent days I can say that as a whole the album convinces and there are no songs I am inclined to skip when listening to it.
