After a long week of counting someone finally decided yesterday evening that it was safe to say that Joe Biden is the new president elect. Trump, as expected is not willing to accept defeat and continues to claim victory. The news came in too late yesterday to open up a bottle to celebrate so I will so this evening. It is completely incomprehensible to me how some Trump arguments can be believed by anyone, like asking to stop the count except there where it seems he is gaining on Biden. Or how Fox News is now suddenly populated by left wing radicals just because they don’t support Trump in his wild allegations of fraud.
2 weeks ago I started a new IBM data analyst specialisation on Coursera and I think I am going to try a few of the techniques on the election results. The data must be available somewhere. Part of the course is about using Excel to analyse and visualise data and I learned a couple of useful tricks and methods in Excel that already made my life easier. Anyway, practicing some techniques on the election data and corona figures seems like a fun project.
